Poem 48: Like J Cole

Can we talk about Isis and Osiris
Capitalism? What life is
Love philosophically
How it’s the cure for everything

Or we can talk about Yeshua
You’re a
Beautiful soul like J Cole
Yes you are

Let the truth be told of old pharaohs
Do you believe life after death?
Or the energy dissolves
Til there’s nothing left

I’ll push your hips when it’s too deep

So you can see me
Feel what you’re saying
Taste the meaning
Traced lips while your speaking

About being hated
For being the one who made it
Why the federal reserve is outdated
Why it’s illegal to get faded

How we made it- thank Yeshua
For a
Beautiful soul like J Cole
Yes you are

Poem 28: Love Sabotage

by Meka Love

Desired so long; wanting so strongly
Sprinting, crawling, reaching, gnawing
Kneeling, begging, fervently asking for it

For strength and will until time for basking
In it’s glow and satisfaction; confused reaction
When it became mine, now I am done wishing and

Want permission to take it for granted
Contemplating love sabotage. It is mine. Isn’t it?
Hard to accept it’s not a mirage when it’s so perfect

And I’m not worthy. Forces the question
Whether it was ever worth it. It could hurt me- unprotected
Not if I hurt it that scaled my wall and made me a skeptic

Is it unacceptable? Or should I relish the exception
Of perfect timing, seeds of good will- trying to see the
Possibilities of patience, wishes prayed up, appreciation

For what is incredible; Admittedly, anything less is unacceptable
Nothing is perfect but love for me except that
I must accept it to be happy

Poem 22: Fear of Fear

Phobophobiac

Trapped beneath

‘The man’ and a ‘system’

That’s down. Drowning. Afraid

I’m not showing up in it anyway

Apologies Part 2: When to Fold ’em and 5 Other Eff Words

Usually when no apology is needed, none is expected. But there are times when the offender’s offense lies only in the mind of the offended.

“Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar” -attributed to Sigmund Freud

These cigars are all first cousins that must be identified. Spades a spade– whatever, we’re calling it!
