Country boy where are your people
Surely they didn’t leave you here with me dude
Holding my coat for a do si do
But watching my hips go round
Down and back making it clap
You’re on my side of town
Look but don’t touch
No not my butt
Silly man put me down
It’s all a bit much for the girl with the clutch
Pointing and staring me down
“He has a girlfriend!!”
Girlfriend, I see.
What’s that gotta do with me?
Not playing for keeps I’m just riding this beat
Shake it off like Taylor, missy
So much to shake off these days. Here’s some New Year’s fun poetry I hope you enjoyed it.
I wrote a poetry piece after Trayvon Martin was murdered for those who were grieving him. This time, after Michael Brown’s murder, I didn’t write anything. Maybe I will one day. Now, nothing good could come from my own words. So enjoy this record entitled Everything is Everything by my favorite rap goddess ever Lauryn Hill, instead
If you smiled all the way through this song, you might be a hip hop head- that is a connoisseur of hip hop music. I would like to pretend I was the first one to discover this if it didn’t already have as many hits, but chances are, you’ve never heard this little number. At least I’ve discovered it for you. This is the quintessential rap and hip hop head’s anthem by a new pair of artists local to me *coughs* that I just heard last night.
